Celebrating 32 years working with children, with 24 being in education, Nicole Ford has touched the lives of many of our youth through her dedication to the practices of empowerment and environmental stewardship. As the STEM Coordinator for Feldwood Elementary School, Mrs. Ford initiated and grew the program exponentially. Some of the programs she implemented include school gardens and student led programming such as STEM Ambassadors, STEM Ambassador Alumni Network, and Roots & Shoots, which have now been duplicated in many South Fulton, Georgia schools today.  As a result of her work, she received the Teach On Project Award for Excellence in Education.

Before transitioning to her new role, as K-5 Science Program Specialist for Fulton County, she established the South Learning Community STEM Council to connect and support the STEM teachers in the district. As a program specialist, she provides professional development for teachers and instructional support leaders in STEM pedagogy. She serves on the STEM Advisory Council, and lead two schools in her district to become STEM certified; with one being the first internationally STEM certified school in Fulton County. Mrs. Ford also initiated the piloting effort for STEM Gems Clubs in the South Learning Community exposing over 250 young ladies to STEM careers through the book STEM Gems, launched the Seed & Lead School Gardening Program, and developed the content for the Fulton County Mobile Learning Experience Program.
