Celebrating twenty-eight years working with children, with twenty being in education, Nicole Ford has touched the lives of many of our youth through her dedication to the practices of empowerment and environmental stewardship. As the STEM Coordinator for Feldwood Elementary School, Mrs. Ford initiated and grew the program exponentially. Some of the programs she implemented include school gardens and student led programming such as STEM Ambassadors, STEM Ambassador Alumni Network, and Roots & Shoots, which have now been duplicated in many South Fulton schools today.  As a result of her work, she received the Teach On Project Award for Excellence in Education.

Before transitioning to her new role, as STEM Program Specialist for Fulton County, she established the South Learning Community STEM Council to connect and support the STEM teachers in the district. As a program specialist, she provides professional development for teachers and instructional support leaders in STEM pedagogy. She serves on the STEM Advisory Council, and lead two schools in her district to become STEM certified; with one being the first internationally STEM certified school in Fulton County. Mrs. Ford also initiated the piloting effort for STEM Gems Clubs in the South Learning Community exposing over 250 young ladies to STEM careers through the book STEM Gems, and launched the Seed & Lead School Gardening Program.

Mrs. Ford continues to foster the STEM movement by operating FACE Ed. STEAM Consultancy, serving as a GaDOE Science Ambassador, and as a SAGES presenter for the Captain Planet Foundation. Some of her most recent accomplishments are serving as a Fellow in the Harvard Think Tank collaborating with educators from across the world to develop lessons aligned to the United Nation's Sustainable Developmental Goals, and authoring curriculum in her published Seed & Lead program’s graphic novel. She is featured in the 1 Million Women in STEM Campaign, and looks forward to serving the elementary teachers in her role as the GSTA Elementary Representative.
